BANGKOK HOSPITAL PHUKET

                                    bangkokphuketabout

Bangkok Hospital Phuket (BPK) opened on the 22nd of May 1995 for locals and tourists, whether Thai or from any of the 127 nationalities who have gone to make Phuket one of the premier tourist locations in the world.

The plans were certainly ambitious, yet well conceived, with just one testament to this being the fourfoldexpansion in beds from 50 in 1995 to almost 200 today. Investment to date has exceeded 800 million baht and the goal of being the tertiary level hospital serving the southern region of Thailand is within sight.

Investment is not an end in itself and BPK has sought to develop services to meet patients' requirements and to exceed their expectations. By taking on the mantle of pathfinder, BPK has developed twelve elite, but not exclusive, regional centres of excellence. These run the gamut of speciality clinics, from the Phuket Heart Centre with full diagnosis and treatment facilities, including cardiac catheterisation, to the .Phuket Aesthetic Centre, which offers elective cosmetic surgery.

The essentiality of partnerships is a founding principle of the BPK success story. As part of the Bangkok General Hospitals (BGH) group, with 14 hospitals nationwide making it the largest health care provider in SE Asia, plus its referral centres in Russia, Cambodia, Bangladesh, Vietnam and Great Britain, it possesses a reach exceeding that of others. But going out across the country and the half the world isn't at the exclusion of services across Phuket itself. Partnerships with some of the international investors have resulted in eleven outreach clinics island-wide, at resorts, schools and the airport, taking the service to the customer, and in more languages than anyone else. With BPK, the wider networks.

A hospital can't function without doctors, nurses and technical staff: BPK boasts 42 full-time physicians across the spectrum of medical care and a further 50 on a consulting basis. A team of dedicated nurses provide support, and, along with well-trained technicians, all must undergo continuous education in their specialised fields to guarantee that their skills remain finely honed. The necessary expertise of all hospital staff in the use of cutting edge equipment, itself a fundamental, isn't at the expense of perceived notions of traditional national warmth, which is why Bangkok Hospital Phuket truly combines World technology with Thai hospitality
